Equipment

  • Electric mixer

Ingredients

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened to room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons pure honey
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract optional, for a subtle sweetness
  • teaspoon ground nutmeg optional, for a warm, spiced note

Instructions

  • Start with 1 cup of unsalted butter. Make sure it’s softened to room temperature. Take a moment to let it sit out while you gather other ingredients.
  • Using an electric mixer or a sturdy whisk, whip the softened butter in a mixing bowl. You want it fluffy and creamy. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
  • Once your butter is fluffy, slowly add in the ½ cup of powdered sugar. Beat it until the sugar is well incorporated and there are no lumps. This adds a delightful sweetness that pairs beautifully with the butter.
  • Add in 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon. If you’re using nutmeg, add ⅛ teaspoon now as well. Beat briefly until everything is mixed in evenly.
  • Pour in the 3 tablespoons of pure honey. This step gives that rich, natural sweetness. Mix until everything is well combined.
  • Add ¼ teaspoon of kosher salt. This tiny amount is crucial. It balances out the sweetness and enhances all the flavors. Mix again.
  • If you choose to add vanilla, now is the time. Pour in ½ teaspoon and blend it all together.
  • At this point, it’s wise to give your Texas Roadhouse butter a taste. Adjust sugar, cinnamon, or salt according to your liking.
  • Transfer the butter to an airtight container. It will be ready for use once refrigerated.

Notes

  • Make the Butter Ahead of Time: This butter can be made several days in advance. Just store it in the refrigerator.
  • Use Fresh Ingredients: Quality honey and fresh cinnamon will yield the best flavor.
  • Room Temperature Is Key: For an easily spreadable butter, ensure it’s at room temperature.
  • Experiment with Flavors: Try adding lemon zest or a splash of orange juice for a citrus twist!
  • Presentation Matters: Consider serving it in a small dish with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top for an added aesthetic.
